What are preferred names?
You are welcome to use a preferred name that differs from your legal name on our platform and in your sessions. There may be several reasons why you want to use a preferred name, whether it be for gender affirming or cultural reasons. You could be using a completely different name, nickname, shortened version of your name, or a name you simply prefer being called.
We fully support your decision to use your preferred name, and encourage you to have any relevant discussion necessary around your preferred name with your care provider.
Where can I expect to see my preferred name?
Your preferred name will be used consistently across the platform except for where it is required by law to use your legal name. Your preferred name will be used on all areas on the platform, including email communication and in messages with your practitioner. Your preferred name is set on the Preferences screen, and will be visible to your care provider.
The only place your legal name is used is on session receipts. This is for insurance and legal purposes and cannot be edited. Your legal name may also be used by your care provider to confirm your identity.
How to add my preferred name to my account
Adding your preferred name to your account ensures it will be used across the platform, and lets your care provide know what name you would like to be called. You can add your preferred name in the matching flow in the Personal Details section, and you can edit your preferred name from the Preferences screen.

On the
Preferences screen, navigate to the Personal Details section and select Edit.

Enter your Preferred Name and select Update Changes.
